AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was drafted by Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to be part of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which they came out as runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. Morgan was later named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 as well as the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
