
Alexandra Rose Raisman (born May 25 24th, 1994) is an ex-retired American artistic gymnast, and a two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and the 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams that have won individual teams competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she won gold medals in the floor and team events, and also the bronze medal for the balance beam, making her the most accomplished American gymnast in the Games. In the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal in the team event which made her and teammate Gabby Douglas the sole Americans with back-to-back gold team medals. Raisman was also awarded silver in the individual all-around and for floor exercise. Raisman also received silver medals for the individual all-around as well as for floor exercise. She was also two-time national champion in the floor exercise (2012 in 2012 and 2015) as well as the 2012 national champion on the balance beam, and five times medalist in the all-around section at the national championships (silver in 2016, bronze in 2010, 2011, 2012, and in 2015). In 2013 she was admitted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
