Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity and sexual orientation. Then she expanded her fans to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. While in her schooling, she specialized in women's studies and journalism. She also studied Mandarin briefly in Beijing. After graduating, she began to concentrate on music. Her track My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and was later featured on her first LP Yellow Ranger. The album also included songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. This song is directly linked to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. She opted to pursue a career as an actor following the completion of her previous two ventures as a musician and author. In addition to early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
