Barbados born, she first was a fan of reggae when her age increased and began singing herself when she was an teen. As a way to get away from the tensions in her family along with the constant arguments between her parents, she started singing. She formed a musical group while still in high school and got an opportunity to an audition with music producer Evan Rodgers who was highly amazed by her talent. Rihanna made the move into New York so that she could begin her singing career. Rihanna soon became an international star after her debut release. Her uplifting songs became favorites among the young who pushed her into the world of film. Pretty young and highly talented she is today regarded as a popular teen star and fashion icon. Rihanna is also involved in helping charities and uses her celebrity status to benefit charities.
